VHS 25+ Nanoliter Dispensing Valves

The VHS 25+ Nanoliter Dispense Valves are very high speed solenoid valves designed for applications requiring precision dispensing of fluids. The valves can operate up to 1200 Hz with the Prepackaged Spike and Hold Circuit or the Fast Response Drive Circuit, allowing the designer to maximize the dispense rate and increase the consistency of each dispense cycle. The closed coil design minimizes coil exposure to incidental splashing and corrosion, and depending on the application, the valves will operate for 250 million actuations or more. These valves can dispense consistent small fluid droplets of a wide range of fluids. Tested chemicals include many alcohols, organic solvents, DMSO and aqueous solutions. The valves also feature a response time as low as 0.25 ms and low power consumption (500 milliwatts maximum).

The VHS 25+ nanoliter dispense valves come in four styles: The VHS P/2, the VHS M/2, the VHS M/P and the VHS P/M. A chemically resistant version of the VHS P/2 is also available (VHS P/2 CRDV).

Droplet Dispense Volume
Data for this graph was obtained with a .0075" ID jeweled orifice nozzle approximately 2" downstream of the outlet port. The valve was driven with a Fast Response Drive Circuit at the valve's rated pulse voltage. This graph is supplied for reference information only. It is not meant to portray the pulse duration limits or the pressure limits of this valve. Results will vary with different fluids.

Notes:
  • 2-way valve for fluids (gases or liquids).
  • Open liquid flow restriction: 4750 LOHMS nominal.
  • Internal volume is approximately 35 microliters.
  • Barbed ports are designed to accept .042" ID soft tubing.
  • 062 MINSTAC ports are designed to accept 062 MINSTAC tubing systems and MINSTAC nozzles as shown below:

  • 250,000,000 cycle life warranty in appropriate applications. (Typical life using clean non-abrasive fluid -- in excess of 1 billion cycles).
  • Typical wetted materials: EPDM, PPS, PEEK, stainless steel and epoxy. Wetted materials for chemically resistant VHS P/2 CRDV are PFE, PEEK, stainless steel and epoxy.
  • Standard axial .025" square pins (bent pins available as an option).
  • Custom valves for specific voltages or materials such as PFE are also available.
  • Upstream filtration of 10 microns or better is recommended.

Case Proof Pressure: >120 psig (850 kPa) (extended range available with custom valves).
Case Burst Pressure: >200 psig (1380 kPa).

Maximum recommended solenoid coil temperature: 160°F (71°C). Extended temperature range available with custom valves. Increasing operating temperatures may limit coil performance. Valve duty cycle and energized time must be evaluated for conformance to the maximum recommended coil temperature.
