Position: Hydraulic Test Technician

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or GED required. 
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and use of simple mathematical skills. Proficient use of precision measurement instruments, and specialized trade tools and equipment.
  • Use of computers to perform data entry and document production.
  • Constant use of microscope, precision measurement instruments, and specialized trade equipment and tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from drawings, parts lists, test procedures and verbal instructions to determine requirements of work to be performed.
  • Plan and perform necessary testing operations using a variety of test stands and equipment (hydraulic and pneumatic). Select and set up appropriate test stand using various types of oil, air, and water.
  • Follow various prescribed test sequences to test valves for leaks, flow, pressure, and reseating. Record testing results and complete production paperwork.
  • Use various measuring instruments, such as thread gauges, pin gauges, micrometers, monochromatic plates, microscopes, dial indicators, and dial verniers.
  • Perform various secondary machine operations, as required such as drilling, reaming, dipping, polishing, deburring, passivating, and waxing.
  • Detect and report defective materials, improper operations, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions to supervisory personnel.
