Our Response to the Coronavirus - The Lee Company

Last Updated: August 17, 2021

Since my father started The Lee Company in 1948, the health, safety and well-being of our employees, their families, our communities and our customers has always been our family’s first priority. As the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic continue to unfold, we are following the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), as well as federal, state and local authorities, to ensure that we as an organization are doing what we can to provide the safest environment for everyone. During this difficult time, we are thinking of all who have been affected by this virus and we commend those in healthcare professions who are working diligently to help those in need.

We produce critical components that are used across a wide array of applications to keep people safe, including directly in the study of, protection from and eradication of the Coronavirus as well as the treatment of those with Covid-19. Our team is doing everything we can to ensure our manufacturing and shipping efforts continue to operate normally. We are prioritizing work related to the Coronavirus but are maintaining our commitment to on time deliveries to customers in any industry.

Among the measures we are taking to protect our employees across the globe and ensure our customers receive the products that they need are:

  • Numerous educational efforts have been taken to promote the CDC guidelines, especially staying home if team members feel ill.
  • We have a strict Visitor’s Policy for entry into any of our facilities.
  • Business travel has been restricted for all employees. Some of these restrictions are being lifted during the pandemic recovery process.
  • Employees who could work remotely did so with the equipment and support needed to do their jobs effectively. Most employees are currently back in the office although we remain able to adjust as conditions warrant.
  • We have increased the sanitation efforts in our facilities and work areas and have modified areas to provide more space between workstations. We have also increased our stores of cleaning and sanitizing supplies.

We plan to continue to do everything we can to ensure our employees are safe and our customers get the critical parts they need. Our team has seen a lot in our 73 years in business and we are well prepared to flexibly deal with the evolving conditions. We plan to monitor any new updates from the CDC and other authorities, and to do what is best for our employees, their families, our community and our customers.
