Keep Your Oil Well Productive With More Components From The Lee Company

The Lee Company offers a wide range of products specialized for the oil and gas industry. These include rupture discs, peak pressure recorders, and combination valves.

Like all Lee products, these components are made from corrosion-resistant solid alloys, tested under a rigorous quality management system, and designed for high reliability, allowing them to stand up against the high pressures, high temperatures, and corrosive fluids that characterize a downhole environment.

Lastly, The Lee Company deals heavily in custom products. All of the components below are adaptable to the needs of your specific application, allowing you to create a product that efficiently functions as it was designed to.

Rupture Discs

The Burst-Sert rupture disc is a single-use isolation device designed to seal a passageway or volume until the rated burst pressure is exceeded. Until that point, it provides a reliable, leak-tight seal in a compact, corrosion-resistant package. Once the burst disc ruptures, a flow passage as large as 0.25 of an inch (12 Lohms) is created to relieve excess pressure or allow flow to and from the isolated system. Burst pressures are available from 3000 to 15,000 psid with a 10% tolerance. Operating temperatures up to 392°F (200°C) are available.

Manufactured from Incoloy® 825 and Inconel® 625, the Burst-Sert incorporates The Lee Company’s field-proven controlled expansion principle, which ensures retention and prevents any bypass leakage without the use of threads or elastomeric seals. These are perfect for chemical injection line integrity testing, system isolation, or instrument protection.

Peak Pressure Recorders

If an oil tool fails, you’ll want to understand why. Often, a tool will fail due to the unpredictable shifts and spikes in pressure within the down-hole environment. For example, a failure may be unavoidable if a spike exceeds a tool’s maximum rated pressure. Using a peak pressure recorder, you can understand how your tool performed under the worst-case scenario.

The Lee Kipster® Peak Pressure Recorder is a mechanical device that records peak pressure in a hydraulic system. The component contains a pressure-sensitive disc that permanently deforms as a function of peak pressure. Although this device does not replace sophisticated transducers, it offers a simple, economical means of measuring peak pressure and a compact package that can be installed where electronic transducers can’t be.

Lee Kipsters are available in three models that span the pressure range from 4000 psi to 30,000 psi with an accuracy of up to ± 3%. The pressurization rate has been shown to have little effect on the Kipster’s accuracy of up to 50,000 psi/sec. Above this rate, some drift may occur. If the pressure rise rate is repeatable, the drift is consistent within a given part number up to 2,000,000 psi/sec.

PRI/Check Valves

Lee PRI®/Chek® Valves combine the function of a reverse flow pressure relief valve in parallel with the function of a check valve with free flow in the forward direction into one easily installed insert. The relief valve function features a rugged Tungsten Carbide ball and a 440C seat for durability and long life. The remaining components are constructed entirely of stainless steel. The valves are available in a range of relief flow cracking pressures for system pressures up to 5000 psi.

The 281 PRI/Chek Valves are available with or without integral safety screens. The unscreened version has a maximum restriction of 300 Lohms in the free flow direction and is available in nine different standard relief flow cracking pressures up to 3600 psid. The screened version has a maximum restriction of 550 Lohms in the free flow direction and is available in 15 different standard relief flow cracking pressures up to 5900 psid. The 375 PRI/Chek Valve has a maximum restriction of 220 Lohms in the free flow direction and is available in seven different standard relief flow cracking pressures up to 5400 psid.
