2025 Scholarship Awards Presented by The Lee Company

On June 10, 2025, The Lee Company proudly hosted its 26th annual awards ceremony for the Lee Scholarship Fund at its headquarters in Westbrook, CT. The Lee Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 by The Lee Company founders, Leighton Lee II and Marietta F. Lee, to assist with higher education costs for the children and spouses of Lee employees. Since its inception, the fund has awarded more than $2.5 million in scholarships. This year, 59 children of Lee employees received a total of $238,000 in scholarships. Awards were presented to recipients and their families by Marietta Lee, President and CEO, along with Bill Lee, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and former President and CEO, Leighton Lee III.

The ceremony included the presentation of two additional grants from the Walter Tischbein Scholarship Fund. This scholarship fund was established by The Lee Company in 2017 to honor the late Vice President, Walter Tischbein. This scholarship is available to children of Lee employees, with a preference to those studying a STEM discipline, and who have a track record of community service. These awards were presented by Dawn Tischbein, Walter Tischbein’s widow. Dotty Weston-Murphy, Sr. Vice President, Development and Donor Services at The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven (CFGNH), addressed the attendees on behalf of the foundation.

The Lee Company remains committed to investing in education and supporting the families of its workforce, reinforcing its longstanding values of opportunity, innovation, and community. With continued contributions from the Lee family, employees, and strong financial stewardship by CFGNH, the Lee Scholarship Fund’s principal balance now exceeds $5 million.
