Lee Employees Graduate from Inaugural Advanced Manufacturing Training

As part of our continued commitment to the development and advancement of our employees through education, The Lee Company has implemented an Advanced Manufacturing Training program for machinists who are ready to take their career to the next level. The initial eight weeks of the six-month class are taught in a classroom setting and the remainder of the training involves a mix of hands-on and classroom learning. The course was taught by Mike Gifford, Training Coordinator, who was an employee of The Lee Company for 28 years before retiring earlier this year. Six employees graduated from the first training program in September. These promising graduates are prepared to take on advanced machining positions within the company thanks to the rigorous and specialized training they received through the program.

Because Lee products are designed for precise performance in complex, mission-critical applications, it is essential for our employees to be highly educated in our unique engineering and manufacturing processes. The Advanced Manufacturing Training program is just one of several ongoing internal training initiatives designed to help Lee employees contribute to their professional growth as well as the growth of the company. Upcoming training programs include Basic Machining and Introduction to Inspection. The Basic Machining Class is designed to help employees who have demonstrated a strong mechanical aptitude develop the skills required to become machine operators. In the Introduction to Inspection class, employees gain the experience they need to advance into jobs as inspectors. These classes, along with other programs like tuition assistance, help ensure that The Lee Company has the best team possible to provide state-of-the-art fluid control solutions to our customers.
