THE LEE COMPANY ANNOUNCES UNPRECEDENTED HEALTHCARE BENEFIT

WESTBROOK, CT – The Lee Company, a world leading manufacturer of miniature precision fluid control products, announced today an unprecedented new healthcare benefit.

As of January 1, 2023, employees no longer have to pay any monthly premiums on their medical insurance.

“This is an extremely proud day for The Lee Company,” said president and CEO Bill Lee.

“Families everywhere are dealing with rising health care costs and the lingering economic and social impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We are thrilled to be able to provide this benefit to help ease the burden on employees and their families.”

The average annual employee contribution for family coverage in Connecticut is over $6,000, according to a survey done by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.

Under this new initiative, the nearly 1,100 employees at The Lee Company will not have to pay any monthly medical plan premium for their existing Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield Century Preferred plan.

Spouses and families will still be covered as usual, and nothing will change with regards to the level of coverage, deductibles, and copays.

“My family has dealt with our share of medical challenges, and The Lee Company has always been there for us,” said manufacturing supervisor Mark Wolf.

“This new benefit is already having a profound effect for me and my family.

“Knowing that we don’t need to worry about monthly premiums gives us valuable peace of mind.”

“This is an example of our commitment to our employees and their families,” said Lee.

“The Lee Company has a long track record of providing top-notch benefits, including a 70-year-old profit-sharing plan that is 100% funded by the company, tuition reimbursement, bonuses, a scholarship fund, and advanced manufacturing training to help employees grow their skills.

“We think of our employees like family, and it’s that spirit that inspires all of us to go above and beyond to accomplish our goals.”

“I have worked at The Lee Company for 28 years, advancing from a shipping and receiving clerk to a supervisor role,” said Wolf.

“Bill Lee always says to us that none of this is possible without all of you.

“While this is true, I remind the Lee family that we can say the same about them.”

“This is an excellent example of a Connecticut manufacturer finding an innovative solution to help improve the quality of life for its workers,” said CBIA president and CEO Chris DiPentima.

“Connecticut is facing a workforce crisis, and we need to embrace all solutions that make it easier and more affordable for people to live and work in our state.”

The Lee Company has well-known reputation of being an exceptional place to work and was recently named a “Top Workplace in Connecticut” by the Hartford Courant.

In 2022, The Lee Company hired more people than any other year in business and they expect to set another record for hiring in 2023.

“We have the best team of professionals in the fluidics industry,” said Lee.

“This is a historic opportunity to join a company that has demonstrated success, innovation, and leadership.”

The Lee Company anticipates openings throughout the organization such as engineering, machining, tool making, CNC programming, assembly, inspection, as well as all support areas.
