On June 16, 2026, The Lee Company hosted its 27th annual Lee Scholarship Fund awards ceremony at its headquarters in Westbrook, Connecticut, recognizing the academic achievements of employees’ families and reaffirming its long-standing commitment to education.
Established in 1999 by company founders Leighton Lee II and Marietta F. Lee, the Lee Scholarship Fund helps offset the cost of higher education for the children and spouses of Lee employees. Since its founding, the program has awarded more than $3.0 million in scholarships.
This year, 53 scholarship recipients were collectively awarded $242,000 to support their continued studies. Awards were presented to recipients and their families by Marietta Lee, President and CEO; Bill Lee, Chairman of the Board; and Leighton Lee III, former President and CEO.

The event also featured the presentation of awards from the Walter Tischbein Scholarship Fund. Created in 2017 in honor of the late Vice President Walter Tischbein, the scholarship supports students pursuing STEM-related fields who also demonstrate a strong commitment to community service. This year’s Tischbein awards were presented by Robert Tischbein, Walter’s son.
Representing The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven (CFGNH), Linda Estacion, Director of Donor Services & Development Operations, addressed attendees and spoke to the ongoing impact of the partnership in supporting educational opportunities.
The Lee Company continues to invest in the future of its workforce and their families through programs like the Lee Scholarship Fund, which reflects the organization’s core values of innovation, opportunity, and community engagement. With continued support from the Lee family, employees, and stewardship by CFGNH, the fund’s principal balance now exceeds $5 million.
