Designed as a passive alternative to pyrotechnic valves, this one-way latching valve features stainless steel construction, tungsten carbide balls, in-line mount assembly, and an elastomeric seal for tight leakage. It primarily functions as a fuel-flow prevention device in turbojet engines and is also used in engine bleed-air systems, launch vehicles, satellites, and spacecraft for flow prevention, venting, and actuation. The valve supports hydraulic and pneumatic systems, offers a flow range of 65–365 Lohms, includes AS -4 to -4 fitting end connections, and is 100% functionally tested.

The Lee Company has developed the Lohm Laws for defining and measuring resistance to fluid flow. The Lohm is defined such that 1 Lohm will flow 100 GPM of water with a pressure drop of 25 psi at a temperature of 80°F.
Always verify flow calculations by experiment.
