Lee 18 Series Visco Jets are multi-orifice restrictors that incorporate slots and spin chambers to form a complex fluid passage which provides a reasonable degree of viscosity compensation without the use of any moving parts. In addition, the multi-orifice configuration provides a greater minimum passage for a given restriction and is better suited to handle much higher levels of contamination. Also, the fluid velocity is reduced by the series of restrictions, thus reducing the chances of cavitation. With robust screens protecting for bidirectional flow, Lee 18 Series Visco Jets are available calibrated to ±5% or ±10% tolerance and are offered in a wide range of Lohm rates from 11,200 to 313,000 Lohms.

The Lee Company has developed the Lohm Laws for defining and measuring resistance to fluid flow. The Lohm is defined such that 1 Lohm will flow 100 GPM of water with a pressure drop of 25 psi at a temperature of 80°F.
