This pre-assembled aluminum tapered expansion plug is engineered to seal fluid passages in metal castings, creating a leak-tight seal without the use of threads, O-rings, or sealants. Its unique tapered design eliminates the need for tight manufacturing tolerances and allows designers to minimize the wall thickness around the plug, even for brittle housing materials. The pre-assembled plug facilitates a reliable automated or manual installation process. It is ideal for high volume applications.

The Lee Company has developed the Lohm Laws for defining and measuring resistance to fluid flow. The Lohm is defined such that 1 Lohm will flow 100 GPM of water with a pressure drop of 25 psi at a temperature of 80°F.
